Purpose and Reason:

Subject to approval from the federal Department of Health and Human Services Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS), effective September 1, 2002, to amend the rules to provide for enrollment of the following MA coverage groups, and certain other MA eligible family members with disabilities, in RIte Care health plans: 1) SSI recipients under age twenty one (21); 2) Katie Beckett children; 3) IV-E and non IV-E Adoption subsidy children. To provide traditional fee-for-service MA benefits to eligible SSI recipients under age twenty-one (21), Katie Beckett children, and Adoption subsidy children who are otherwise covered by third party health insurance. To amend the list of allowed home care services for Katie Beckett Children to include home based therapeutic services, minor assistive devices, minor home modifications, and other special equipment
